Davey Puts Focus On Energy Saving

Newly appointed Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Edward Davey has announced that his is putting energy saving and efficiency at the core of his strategy whilst in the cabinet post.

At a meeting with industry leaders in London yesterday Davey, who is a liberal democrat MP, unveiled details of a new Energy Efficiency Deployment Office (EEDO) within the Department of Energy and Climat Change (DECC) to spearhead energy efficiency policies and make them more relevant to the every day lives of members of the public.

One of the biggest parts of the energy efficiency drive is expected to be the Governments ‘Green Deal’ set to come in to operation later in the year where grants and assistance will be given to many families to install home insulation, and the message rings true with us here at Westville too, especially in such delicate times both economically and environmentally.

Home Insulation provides a good deal all around, not only does it stop the massive amounts of heat which leak from your home, but cavity wall and loft insulation provides average energy bill savings of between £185 and £310 per year, whilst loft and solid wall insulation can offer even more attractive savings of between £510 and £635 per year, add that to the fact it’s also a very green measure as it helps to reduce your carbon emissions, and its smiles all around!

So, whether or not Mr Davey and the EEDO’s plans prove fruitful or not, home insulation and energy saving is something which benefits us all, so get in touch with the friendly Westville Insulation team today on 0800 1583605 and take your first steps toward a more efficient home.
