Fight Off The Freeze With Home Insulation

Us British love to talk about the weather, its who we are, and anyone who likes to keep up with the national weather reports on television, or through the internet, will know that we may well have some pretty severe winter weather on the way.

The Met Office have upgraded their cold weather alert to level 3 for many parts in the country, which states that there is a 100 per cent probability of severe conditions across most of England this week, and if the reports are to be believed, near Arctic temperatures, possibly as low as -10°C , will be gripping the country for the best part of an entire month, making for a less than comfortable February!

These predicted figures have of course caused huge concern for the most vulnerable members of society, the aged, and those living in fuel poverty, but with temperatures potentially reaching such low levels, there is something for everyone to consider – just how well is your house set to deal with cold on that scale?

Many people all over the country live in draughty, inefficient, uninsulated homes, which won’t provide much help when the Arctic weather rolls in, leaving families to either crank up the heat to full and cost themselves a fortune, or to spend the month sat in bitter cold, and potentially risk their health.

That is why both the NIA (National Insulation Association), and us here at Westville Insulation, are strongly recommending that anyone living in a home which is lacking in proper insulation should get in touch today and ensure that their home is properly prepared to take on this big freeze, as there is still time to take action before the cold descends on us.

We understand that at this time of the year not everyone has the money to have such work carried out at short notice, however, it is worth pointing out that many people such as the elderly and those on benefits could actually qualify for FREE home insulation anyway, and once installed, cavity and loft insulation can save you £310 per year on your energy bills, whilst loft and solid wall insulation can save around £635 per year, making it an investment which ultimately pays for itself!

So, please, take the chance before its to late, ensure you make it through the cold spell in warmth and comfort, and get in touch with our home insulation team today on 0800 1583605.
