Stage one of a life changing project taking place in the Model Village area of Bolsover has been completed.
The “New Bolsover Model Village Renovation Project”, delivered by Woodhead construction began last November, and saw essential architectural repairs carried out on 194 Grade II listed residential properties in the area.
Funded by £10m procured from Bolsover District Council, The Heritage Lottery Fund and Derbyshire County Council has seen work such as the fitting of new rain water goods, re pointing of brick work, and restoration of windows and doors. In addition, all 138 council owned properties in the area have received internal thermal insulation, which was fitted by our team of insulation installers here at Westville Group under our role of specialist sub-contractor for the project.
Of the new insulation in his home, one of the Bolsover tenants, Mr Warwick, said “We can’t believe how warm it is. We can have the heating on lower and the house retains the heat much better than our previous home, also you can’t hear any outside noise due to the quality of the insulation.
We are extremely proud to have been a part of this project, and thrilled to hear that the residents of these properties are enjoying their new homes. We cannot wait for stage two to get under way.
