Catherine Court is a sheltered housing accommodation based just off Chatsworth Road in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Originally built in 1973, the building had seen many seasons and was starting to show its age. The style of the building had become dated, extremely worn out and very much in need of renovation.
Following a full survey of the existing external wall insulation on the Bluecoat Academy in Nottingham, it was found to be in a degenerative condition that was likely to cause a series of problems if left unattended. The consequences of the problems highlighted meant that there was likely to be inefficient heat retention in the building, with a strong possibility that at some point, water would penetrate the walls causing damp and mould.
Working alongside main contractor, ‘Fortem Cares’ Westville’s remit was to help regenerate four blocks of ‘Wimpey No-fines’ two storey flats in Hollybank Road, Birmingham.
