Cement Particle Boards
Cement particle boards (CP boards) also known as cement bonded particle boards (CBPB) are boards constructed from a combination of cement and reinforcing fibres such as treated wood flakes. Usually sized 4 x 8 feet or 3 x 5 feet and 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick, these boards can be nailed or screwed straight on to wood or steel studs and are suitable for both internal and external use on commercial buildings and residential properties.
What do Cement Particle Boards do?
Cement particle boards are an incredibly useful and versatile material. Foe example, due to the mould and mildew resistant qualities of CBPB they can be used as a very effective tile backing board, which considerably outlasts alternatives such as paper faced gypsum. Other uses include utilising the boards as a base for exterior rendering or final finish, as the water and impact resistant qualities make the product very durable and long lasting.
The sound insulating properties of cement particle boards also make them the perfect choice for any building in the middle of high activity, noisy areas. When paired with external render, cement particle boards act as a fantastic heat insulator, which helps to significantly reduce the associated energy bills of any building.
