Amber Valley’s Borough Council strategy is to help improve as many residents lives as possible whilst focusing on specific areas to make a noticeable difference both visually and with energy efficiency. This has been demonstrated with previous projects in Fletcher Street Ripley, Crich Lane Belper and Stainsby Avenue Heanor.
The Heanor areas of Broadway, Mayfield, The Meadows and Stainsby Avenue were selected for this project as a continuation of the houses transformed in 2022 on this development. Semi detached and terraced privately owned homes with an EPC rating of D or below were selected for external wall insulation and loft insulation.
The transformations included roofline extensions, external wall insulation with render finish, new fascia’s, soffits and guttering, ventilation upgrades and loft insulation, all installed to PAS standards with Trustmark guarantees.
Each homes’ individual design added complexity, particularly as many of these had porches, car ports or lean-to structures on the side of their houses. Westville’s tailored approach guaranteed that every property met both aesthetic and PAS standards for energy efficiency.
Adapting to seasonal conditions, with unexpected autumn storms, also presented challenges, but despite weather related delays, Westville’s efficient planning and coordination kept the project on track to finish within the expected timeframe.
EWI & Building Prep Teams
Doru Ghergu and his team were the external wall insulation installers. Their extensive experience in this field ensures the highest quality whilst also being time efficient for minimum customer disruption.
Richard Page & Toby Brown, part of Westville's building prep team who were responsible for preparing the building exteriors prior to the installation being installed and then reinstating items afterwards, such as gates, fence panels, handrails, wall plaques etc. Their many years expertise & experience in this field ensures all properties have the finishing touches to delight the residents.
A total of 22 homes were completely transformed, both visually and economically. With significantly improved EPC ratings, residents now benefit from enhanced energy efficiency and lower heating costs. The quality of the work received outstanding feedback, with homeowners reporting noticeable improvements in warmth and comfort since the insulation was completed.
