The Project.

Being in the heart of Bassetlaw, surrounded by colliery villages, Southview was originally heated via coal. In recent years this has been changed to wood fired stove heating.

To maintain the heat within the home, external wall insulation was the answer, so this property was selected as part of the Bassetlaw District Council, HUG scheme, which was designed for ‘off gas’ properties.

The Work.

Westville installed 90mm EPS external wall insulation with attractive two-tone render – brick effect at the front of the property to maintain its original character complimented by white render to the rear and side walls. New guttering, fascia’s, soffits and porch canopy were installed plus the ventilation upgrade with mechanical extraction fans in the kitchen and bathroom.

Results.

Pre EPC: E47 | Post EPC: D68

The homeowners were initially daunted by the work ahead, but were pleasantly surprised on how well it went and are delighted with the finished result. Their thank you card to Westville said the following:

“We just wanted to say your project management of our home during installation of External Wall Insulation and all associated works has been fabulous, nothing was too much trouble! Your customer care is top notch, all teams were so professional, polite and clean. Brilliant! Our home is now so warm and looks so good!”

The work done by Westville on this project is estimated to save Neil & Teresa £330 per year on their energy bills, which also stops 900kg of CO2 from entering the atmosphere annually!*
