Westville Case Study:
Founded in 1922 by a group of grammar school 'old boys', Paviors Rugby Club has grown into one of the East Midlands’ leading community rugby clubs, with over 500 members and more than 200 active players across 24 teams. The club’s long-standing base at Burntstump Hill, Arnold, has been home since 1973 and is renowned for its excellent coaching, inclusive atmosphere, and impressive facilities. Paviors has always been committed to developing players at every level, from its ‘Little Ruggers’ programme for children aged 2–5 through to senior men’s and women’s squads competing in regional leagues.
In 2025, the club embarked on an ambitious £400,000 clubhouse renovation project led by Facilities Director, Graham Turner. Working closely with the RFU, Graham secured grant funding to support a series of major upgrades, including a new ground floor extension with changing rooms, improved interior flooring, and a complete exterior refurbishment. Westville was commissioned to replace the existing cladding, giving the clubhouse a fresh, modern aesthetic while enhancing the building’s protection and sustainability credentials.
The project required careful coordination to ensure that the extensive renovation work could take place without disrupting the club’s busy year-round schedule. Maintaining access for players, coaches, and community groups using the facilities was a key consideration. Additionally, the new cladding system needed to be durable, low maintenance, and in keeping with the club’s visual identity and long-term sustainability goals.
EWI Installers
The successful completion of the Paviors Rugby Club cladding project was made possible by the skill and professionalism of Westville installers Richard Page and Toby Brown. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality were evident throughout, ensuring the installation was delivered to the highest standard while maintaining the smooth progress of the wider renovation.
Both Richard and Toby received excellent feedback from the client, who described them as “very conscientious, nice to get along with and an asset to Westville.” Their approachable manner and dedication on site perfectly reflect Westville’s values of quality workmanship, teamwork, and customer care, helping to strengthen our partnership with Paviors Rugby Club and contribute to the club’s exciting new chapter.
The completed works have transformed the clubhouse, giving it a striking new appearance that reflects Paviors’ modern and ambitious outlook. The new cladding not only improves the building’s thermal performance and weather resistance but also delivers a long-lasting, sustainable finish that will serve the club for years to come. Members have praised the upgrade for bringing fresh energy to the site, helping the facilities better match the club’s reputation as one of the East Midlands’ most respected rugby communities.
Facilities Director, Graham Turner, shared his appreciation for the work carried out at Paviors Rugby Club, leaving a 5-star Google review for the project:
“Westville quickly, professionally and competitively replaced existing timber cladding with Cedral cladding. The lads on site were excellent and the backup always on hand. Great job.”
