Can you put cavity wall insulation in a stone-built house?

May 13, 2022 | Cavity Wall Insulation, FAQ

Houses built with stone walls may have a cavity. However, these cavities are likely unsuitable for standard mineral fibre cavity wall insulation.

This is because standard blown fibre cannot be guaranteed to fill the cavity evenly, which happens in a standard brick cavity. This is due to the stone build’s unevenness and ‘random’ nature. A more suitable solution would be a Polyurethane Foam product, which is more suited to houses built with stone cavities.
