Those of you in the local area may have heard the recent story of young, local athlete Millie-Rae Vardy.
Millie is an amateur MMA fighter from Sutton-In-Ashfield, who was recently selected to represent the country at the 2022 IMMAF European Championships in Venice, Italy which takes place at the end of September.
To fight at the European Championships is a real dream for Millie, however, the fees are not covered by Sport England or Lottery Funding, and therefore Millie will need to cover the fees herself to be able to compete – this includes flights, hotels & entry fees.
When we heard this story, we immediately wanted to help Millie, and we are very proud to say that Westville Group has now sponsored this amazing young woman in her efforts to make it to Venice.
Following our help, and that of other local businesses and well-wishers, Millie is now so close to her £2,000 goal and achieving her dream.
