A 0% “green mortgage” is now available to homeowners looking to make energy-efficiency improvements to their homes.
Nationwide Building Society has reduced the interest on their green additional borrowing to 0%, which means from June 1st, households with a Nationwide Mortgage will be able to borrow between £5,000 and £15,000 across a 2 to 5 years product term.
This has been done to incentivise members to make green home improvements, helping to cut energy usage & carbon emissions, whilst also saving money at the same time.
All of the loans must be used to fund non-structural, energy-efficient home improvements, such as solar panels, air source heat pumps, window upgrades, boiler upgrades, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, or an electric car charging point.
This presents a great opportunity to homeowners to significantly improve the efficiency, and value of their homes.
