You can find out more about how much cavity wall insulation could save you a year by using the Energy Saving Trust’s Home Energy Check tool.
How much does cavity wall insulation cost?
Well, that depends on a range of factors such as the size of your home or whether or not you have any existing insulating material in your walls. However, in most cases, the cost will be as little as a couple of hundred pounds. So with the annual energy savings, you will make, any cost of insulation will have paid for itself within 1 or 2 years.
Can I receive free cavity wall insulation?
In some cases, yes, there may be no cost at all.
This is possible due to the cavity wall insulation grants provided by the Government through various energy companies. These are available to all eligible home owners throughout the UK.
Westville can help access this funding directly to help minimise or even completely cover your cavity wall insulation cost. Contact us to find out if you qualify.
The cavity insulation process
Westville only uses mineral wool product types, which carry a full 25-year insurance backed guarantee. These products are all fully compliant with all the latest fire/safety regulations, giving peace of mind that the safest products are helping you to reduce energy costs, whilst also helping improve environmental conditions.
Our pre-installation survey ascertains the suitability of the building for the insulation and determines the position of flues, air vents etc. Essential ventilation openings such as those providing combustion air, under floor ventilation, and flues in the cavity wall are all checked and sleeved. In some instances, these may also be modified to prevent blockage by the insulant. At the same time, we will advise you on what grants you may claim and start the process of doing this on your behalf.
In order to insulate your cavity walls, one of our fully trained installers will drill small holes in the outside wall of your home. He will then blow the specialised insulation product into your property cavity, using our special equipment (see images below). Once your walls have been filled with insulation, we will fill in the holes in your brickwork, leaving you barely able to notice them.
Due to the specialist products and equipment needed to carry out cavity wall insulation, this should not be considered as a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) job. A professional contractor like Westville should always be used. We can often get the job done in around 2 hours depending on the size of your property and all our installers are fully trained as part of our customer care policy to ensure any mess made is cleaned up, leaving your property as you would expect… spotless.
